Tenant Rights for Urgent Repairs
Under the Residential Tenancy Act, you have the right to arrange urgent repairs if necessary, with the landlord reimbursing you up to $1,000 for costs incurred. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- The issue shouldn’t have been caused by you (for example, if faulty appliances you own triggered a safety switch).
- You should make reasonable attempts to contact our leasing team.
- Allow us a fair chance to resolve the issue before seeking external help.
- If the problem is outside office hours, try calling the emergency contact number provided below.
- Keep all invoices and payment records to submit for reimbursement.
