What happens after you submit your application
You are welcome to submit your application for our available rental properties anytime! However your application process won't begin after you have viewed the property in person and confirmed with us you wish to proceed with your application. This is why it's important to register your attendance on the day — so we can mark your feedback and confirmation on our system.
From there, we begin working through the following stages:
- Reference checks — we contact your referees by phone or email.
- Database checks — we verify your tenancy history and background.
- Landlord review — we prepare a summary and present all applications to the owner.
- Outcome email — you will receive an email from us once a decision has been made.
How long does it take to process a rental application?
We will attempt to process your application as soon as possible the typical breakdown is:
- 1 to 2 business days to complete reference and database checks.
- 1 to 2 business days for the landlord to review all applications and make a decision.
The biggest factor that affects timing is how quickly your referees respond. Giving them a heads-up before you apply can help speed things up significantly.
Tracking your application
If you applied through Snug or Ignite, you can track your application progress online in real time. You may see your application move through stages such as:
- With property manager — we are completing checks on our end.
- With landlord — your application has been submitted to the owner for a decision.
What happens when you are approved
If your application is successful, you will receive a welcome email from us at support@sydneyrealtygroup.com.au. This email will include your next steps and instructions on how to pay the deposit to secure the property.
If your application is unsuccessful, we will also notify you by email via the application platform that you put the application through.
